Kinja uses a lot of nonstandard HTML stuffage that Chrome and Firefox support, but IE and Edge have not been so quick to adopt due to MS waiting for them to become official standards. It’s frustrating. Ex: You can’t make a title for a post when using IE Mobile on Windows Phone 8.1.

Those are probably the most expensive 661 horsepower ever to appear in a Mercury. Even the notoriously expensive (Chrysler) 426 Hemi is probably quite affordable compared to that souped up 427.

But it is both awesome and scary. Those grippy looking tires and high ground clearance should make it a really interesting driving experience.

10/10, would drive. I once had a client who drag raced a Mustang equipped with a 427 OHC in the 70s. He showed me pictures of it, told me he won quite a few races with it. Eventually, he got out of drag racing for one reason or another and the car ended up getting scrapped. I asked if the motor was scrapped with it - he said that it was. :(

I know. I had to take a second to collect myself, it was a big emotional blow. Especially since I was sitting there listening to him talk about how the car had just been sitting and I was getting my hopes up about maybe being able to buy it off him. :( :(
